To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. -- Bruce McLaren

SCR Performance finishes the season with a pair of wins
SCR Performance had a great weekend at Pueblo Motorsports Park, finishing the season on yet another high note.
Mark Baer and Garrett Walz in the #54 GTS3 M3 took 1st place in E0 and OVERALL at the NASA Enduro race on Sunday, running three long stints and one
set of Yokohama tires to take a comfortable win at the checker.
Backing up the strong performance for SCR was the newest member to the SCR team, Dan Goodman, who set the new track record for GTS3 in his #56 E36 M3 at 1:39.3!
Killer way to finish the season, and now begins winter development!

Jake Latham becomes two-time podium finisher at the 2012 SCCA National Champship Runoffs!
SCR Performance congratulates Jake Latham for stepping onto the Runoffs podium for the second time in as many years, as he claimed his second Bronze medal, this time
in SCCA's highly competitive new Formula 1000 class.
Jake moved to F1000 this year after a successful final season in D-Sports Racing, and had a difficult year this year with getting a new car debugged and up to speed. Despite
having only one good qualifying session, Jake qualified 7th in a field of 18 cars, and battled through an extremely hard-fought race, ultimately finishing third by a mere
0.017 seconds to second place!
We're proud to be part of Jake's racing efforts, and we look forward to more next year.
Check out the video below from YouTube, with coverage filmed from in-car of the ultimate second-place finisher. Also, check out Speed Cast TV
for copies of the broadcasted TV coverage.

Mark Baer claims silver at 2012 Solo Nationals
B-Street Prepared's 2012 winner was decided by barely two blinks of an eye in 2012, with Mark Baer having to settle for a hard fought
and well-earned second place in class, driving his SCR Performance BMW M3.
Day one finished with Baer sitting in first place in BSP, not even a full tenth ahead of second place sitter, and eventual winner Jason Uyeda out of California. Despite
disadvantages in all three measures of weight, tire, and horsepower, Baer was able to snake the M3 through the cones well enough to just pip Jason for the day 1 lead. Even
after the first day, it was clear there were only two contenders for the title, as the third place car was a full three-quarters of a second adrift, and would ultimately
finish nearly two seconds behind the two leaders.
Day two was run on the more open, faster east course, and here the greater horsepower of Uyeda's S2000 was able to stretch its legs, and Mark was unable to overcome
the difference, ultimately settling for a very impressive second place finish.
Congratulations to Mark!
Honorable mentions to other cars from SCR Performance in the field this year - David Jobusch and Lee Michael, who had a tough year, along with Ryan Schossow, Hsun Chen, Tad Kaminski,
Salil Shukla, Bruce Kliewer and Kim Kliewer. Congratulations to all!

Latham wins SCCA Super Tour F1000 race
SCR Performance heartily congratulates Jake Latham for a true hat-trick weekend at the SCCA BF Goodrich Tires Super Tour race weekend
out at High Plains Raceway this weekend.
Jake debuted his new SCR Performance sponsored Stohr F1000 formula car this weekend, and walked away with the fast lap of the weekend, a track record, pole position
in qualifying, and a race win!
Not a bad weekend at the end of things, though it was not without difficulty. 105 degree ambient temperatures and 130* cockpit and tarmac temperature
meant that many cars battled overheating, Jake's among them. Despite the new car unknowns, and an engine change Saturday, Jake perservered to dominate
Sunday's qualifying and the race, finishing some 50 seconds ahead of the nearest F1000 competitor.
Check out the video of Jake's fast lap from qualifying below to see how a full ten-tenths lap looks in a pure race car,
and watch the video of the race start above.

Mark Baer second at El Toro ProSolo
Hot on the heels of heels of his dominant win at the San Diego Tour, Mark moved up the coast slightly to contest the extremely competitive El Toro ProSolo.
Staged on an airfield where many tire manufacturers do their testing, El Toro is some of the best that ProSolo has to offer. At some autocross sites you are
lucky to get a 45 second course. At the El Toro Pro, 45 seconds is just one side. It combines a high grip surface, outstanding competition and
some of the best Pro courses in the sport.
This year, in B-Street Prepared, Mark Baer faced stiff competition from Jason Uyeda in a highly developed Honda S2000. Despite disadvantages in weight, width, horsepower,
and tire, in his BMW M3 "Dakar" Mark still held Jason to a lead of just a few tenths after day 1. On day 2, neither driver found any additional lead over the other, but Jason extended his lead to
ultimately take the BSP win by just under 1 second, with Mark in second, over two seconds ahead of the next competitor in third place.
Check out the super-slow-mo, 300 frame-per-second video of Mark in the high speed slalom near the end of the course!
Over in D-Street Prepared, David Jobusch and Lee Michael backed up their strong finish from the San Diego tour with fourth and fifth spot finishes, David missing the 3rd place podium by just .297 of a
second after two days of competition.

Mark Baer Dominates BSP at San Diego Tour
Starting the season with a road trip to San Diego, SCR Performance owner and President, Mark Baer, took a commanding win in B-Street Prepared in SCCA
Solo national competition during the San Diego National Tour event.
The site of the San Diego Tour, Jack Murphy Stadium (aka Qualcomm Stadium), is noteworthy for its substantial elevation change, bringing an element to solo
not normally encountered. Further, the large size of the lot allows for courses upwards of 60 seconds, as well as substantial on- and off-camber elements that each
driver must master.
Mark mastered all of these elements in the SCR Performance BSP BMW M3, jumping out to nearly a 3-second lead after the dust settled on day 1. Mark never looked back, extending
his lead on Day 2 to take the win.
Over on the D-Street Prepared side were SCR drivers David Jobusch and Lee Michael, driving the BMW 325is simply known as "the red car." The red car was given a new heart over the
winter, and with new power in hand, David finished day 1 in second place, barely tenths ahead of the infamous Mark Smith, also from Colorado. David was not quite able to maintain his lead
on day 2, however, and found himself a few tenths adrift of Smith, having to settle for third place, but a well-earned trophy. Lee Michael consolidated a good finish for the red car,
finishing in 4th position behind his co-driver.

Jake Latham Third at SCCA National Championship Runoffs
In the national championship event known as the "Olympics of Motorsport", Jake Latham finished third in DSR after a week of
qualifying and competition, and will bring home a big medal and an even bigger smile for the week's effort.
Driving his SCR Performance sponsored Stohr WF-1 against the top-level DSR competitiors in the nation, Jake perservered through cold Wisconsin weather,
a bout of food poisoning, and failed engine to reach the podium over more than 20 other competitiors from around the country.
In an interview after the race, Jake shared, "The start was pretty bad for me, especially since my borrowed engine was way down on power to the rest of the cars around
me. I think I went from fourth to eigth or ninth, and pretty much everyone just sort of streamed by on the way to Turn 3. After that, it was just trying to find
and catch whomever I could. Then, cars started to drop out; I saw someone go off at the end of 5 and knew I was up a spot, made a few passes, and before long, I
figured I was up in third place, and just needed to protect that until the race end."
Crowning a season in which he also won the Weathertech June Sprints, in addition to his Runoffs medal, Jake was also awarded the DSR Sportsman of the Year trophy by his
fellow DSR competitors, and by former winner, Dick Colburn.
Our hearty congratulations to Jake on a superlative season, and we look forward to your efforts next year.
